When Henry Ford Met Adam At Heaven’s Gate
Henry Ford was famous as an automobile or car manufacturer when he left the world.
He approached the gatekeeper of heaven, who sat behind a celestial computer and asked him,
“May I go through?”
He was told that he would have to fill in a form detailing his good and bad deeds, and after the computer had checked it out, he would get either the green channel to heaven or the red channel to hell.
Waiting for Judgment
Later, when he presented the application form, he was told that the computer would take another hour to get to his case and that he would have to wait.
The presiding angel, however, softened and, recognizing his obvious importance, said she might be able to find one of his friends to keep him company.
A Request to Meet Thomas Edison
“Yeah, I’d like to meet old Tom Edison.”
“Who?”
“Thomas Edison… you know… the inventor.”
The angel scanned the screen…
“Oh yes, we have him… My, he has many inventions to his credit!
Unfortunately, he’s in a distant sector, and it will take too long to get him here… But I can get another inventor if you like.”
Meeting Adam, the First Inventor
“Which other inventor?”
“Well, we have A for Adam on top of the list.”
“Adam? What did he invent?”
“Er… He invented woman.”
“Oh yeah, I remember something about the rib. Yeah, I would like to meet this Adam.”
Henry Ford’s Complaint
When Adam appeared, Henry Ford attacked him immediately… “Mr. Adam, from an engineering standpoint, you have produced a lousy product… A woman is not stable from an engineering standpoint. A lot of chattering, overflows from eyes etc.. are added weakpoints.” Henry Ford told Adam criticising the design of woman, who is supposed to be made by God as per Adam’s request.
Adam’s Response
Adam was stunned. He asked Ford to follow him and pushed aside the angel at the celestial computer.
After many buttons had been punched, the machine started brooding, lights flickered, disks turned, and a print-out emerged slowly. Adam studied the print-out carefully, then smiled at Ford and said…
“Take a look at this… despite all your complaints about my product… look at this data… more men love my product than yours!”
