The Wisdom of Words
The Wisdom of Words
Knowledge walks the halls inside the mind,
Choosing the right words, like ripe fruit from thinking trees.
Skill makes them smooth, like rivers gently lined,
Helping rough sounds flow clearly and with ease.
Attitude is the wind around a flame.
It lifts words up or makes them gently fall.
Some rush forward, others fear their name,
Moved by the mood that guides or stops them all.
But wisdom sits and learns the art of waiting,
A calm moon watches the waves that shout and roar.
It knows that silence, too, has strength and weight,
And guards our words behind a thoughtful door.
For words are strong, but greater still the art
Of knowing when to keep them in the heart.
