Live Awake

Do not say life is empty, dim, or still,

Like a screen gone dark before the day.

A heart that sleeps forgets its power and will,

Like a locked room where light is kept away.

 

Life is not built of laughter or of tears,

But of brave steps taken, small yet true.

Each dawn should leave us taller than our fears,

Each night, find us a little further through.

 

Time runs like a train that will not wait,

While dreams grow slow, like kites that test the sky.
